Why do shots float wide?
Released aim too early — hold camera lock through contact.

Strikers Club shooting guide: camera lock aim, power meter, curve, finishing angles, headers and volleys against human keepers. Step-by-step finishing — July 2026.
Manual shooting with camera lock — power and placement.
Shooting in Strikers Club has no hidden shot power stat — human keepers read default trajectories if you release aim early or always curl to the same corner. Oddshot Games ties placement to camera lock, mouse direction at release, and hold duration on the shoot binding.
This Strikers Club shooting guide covers aim, power, curve, box finishing, and aerial contacts. Drill in Free Play before blaming teammates for "no pass" when the angle was open. Pair with controls and goalkeeping to see what GKs practice against. Verified July 23, 2026.

Camera lock while shooting keeps aim steady through contact — release lock too early and shots spray wide. Toggle under Settings → Camera; sensitivity affects shooting more than short passing.
Start with lower sensitivity than your FPS games, then raise until 180° turns feel smooth without overshooting the far corner. Disable lock while dribbling in traffic; re-enable on final touch.
| Setting | Effect | Beginner start |
|---|---|---|
| Camera lock on shot | Stabilizes aim vector | Enabled in Free Play |
| Mouse sensitivity | Curve magnitude | Lower than FPS default |
| Lock off in box | See blind-side CB | Toggle habit per possession |
| Pad right stick | Aim on controller | Slightly higher sens than KB |
Finesse shots, near-post placements, and 20-yard curlers benefit most. Long-range power shots still need lock through release — panicking mid-wind-up sends balls over bar.
Human keepers cheat to far post on cut-backs — near post finishes punish tall stance. Mix driven low shots after you score two far-post curlers in the same half.
Power builds while holding shoot — half power often beats rushed full bars that sail over. Curve comes from aim offset at release, not a separate "curve button" like legacy FIFA.
Driven shots use shorter hold and level hips; chips need longer hold and lofted aim when the keeper rushes on 1v1s.
| Shot type | Hold duration | Aim note |
|---|---|---|
| Driven low | Short | Level · near post |
| Placement curl | Medium | Lock + offset side |
| Power shot | Long | Risk over bar — use sparingly |
| Chip | Medium-long | Keeper rushed out |
| Weak foot | Shorter | Safer across body |
Practice 20-yard curlers in Free Play against empty net, then vs keeper. Small mouse offsets at release — large swipes hook into row Z.
Angle selection beats raw power in 5v5 — box is small, GKs cover quickly. Cut-backs from wing beat keepers shading far post; near-post taps beat slow shuffles on central through balls.
1v1s: low driven beats keepers who stand tall; chips beat rushers who dive early. Sell with body shape before you choose.
| Angle | Best finish | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Central 1v1 | Low driven · chip mix | Slow far-post curl |
| Wide 16y | Near post driven | Across-body power |
| Cut-back | Near post tap | Waiting for perfect feet |
| Counter 3v1 | Square for tap-in | Solo dribble into crowd |
| Edge of box | Low curl · placement | Full power height |
Check CB line before calling ball — offside kills breakaways. One beat delay beats flagged goal.
Human GKs parry — expect second balls. Follow shots goal-side instead of admiring wind-up.
Headers need jump timing at cross apex — early jumps float to the keeper. Approach from behind defender shoulder when possible; pure face-on races are 50/50 physics.
Volleys punish dropped clears and half-volley bounces — hold shoot briefly to trap bounce, then strike. Overhead kicks are high risk in traffic — pass if CB closes.
| Distance | Recommended finish | GK read |
|---|---|---|
| 6y central | Low driven near post | Spread late |
| 12y wide | Curl far post | Set for near |
| 18y+ central | Low curl · pass wide | Steps out early |
| Breakaway | Low or chip mix | Rush vs stay |
Wingers: lob vs driven cross depends on GK positioning — human keepers punch on driven. Communicate near/far post call.
Not every aerial is a shot — CB headers out under pressure use jump without shoot. Know when clearance beats volley attempt.
Direct free kicks use the same hold-and-aim layer as open play — wall jumps are manual for defenders, so curl around the near edge after you see the gap. Penalties follow separate timing; read penalties instead of guessing on first spot kick.
Released aim too early — hold camera lock through contact.
Phantom adds Fake Shot sell; any Playstyle shoots the same power — stats do not change.
5v5 rewards driven and near-post; 11v11 opens long-range curlers.
Physics-based — shorter hold and safer angles until practiced.

How to dribble to create the angles you finish from.
No hidden stat — tired players may mis-time release, but power bar is input-only. Manage sprint before final third.
