Strikers Club controls

Strikers Club Controls

Strikers Club controls: full keyboard and controller bindings, Jockey mode, goalkeeper stance, dives, skill moves, and camera aim. Reference table for PC players — July 2026.

Ten advanced tips — camera, Jockey, and input habits that carry into every mode.

Strikers Club controls

Strikers Club on Steam is a physics football sim where you control one player for the entire match — not the whole squad like FIFA. Every pass, shot, tackle, and save depends on manual timing from Oddshot Games, with no hidden RNG deciding outcomes.

This Strikers Club controls reference lists default PC and gamepad bindings, goalkeeper stance inputs, and camera settings that affect shooting. Rebind anything uncomfortable in Settings → Controls after patches — defaults here match Early Access v0.82 (verified July 23, 2026).

Launch from the Steam store page, drill in Free Play before ranked 5v5, and bookmark the beginner guide if you have not finished the tutorial.

Keyboard & mouse defaults

PC is the reference platform for Strikers Club. Movement uses WASD; the mouse aims passes, shots, and camera direction. Sprint and Jockey share the burden on your left hand — many ranked players rebind sprint to a mouse side button after the first session.

  • Do01Rebind sprint if Shift fatigues your pinky during 11v11
  • Do02Lower mouse sensitivity before practicing power shots
  • Do03Confirm lob-pass modifier after each patch note
  • Do04Use wired mouse for keeper dive consistency

Passing vs shooting on mouse

Ground passes fire on a quick left click; hold slightly longer for weighted passes toward teammates. Shooting uses right click — hold to charge power, release to strike. Curve and placement come from mouse direction at release, especially with camera lock enabled.

Lob passes lift the ball over a line — use them sparingly in 5v5 because human keepers read arc early. Drill pass weights in Free Play before blaming teammates for miskicks.

Jockey and slide

Jockey (Ctrl) slows you down but keeps your body between ball and goal — essential for defending without diving into a foul. Release Jockey before you need to sprint catch-up on a through ball.

Slide tackles are high risk: mistime them and you are out of the play for seconds. Prefer Jockey + shoulder challenge in 5v5 until you know recovery animation length on your connection.

Controller layout (Xbox / Steam Deck)

Strikers Club supports full gamepad play on PC and Steam Deck via Proton. Layout follows Xbox conventions: left stick moves, right stick aims, triggers handle pass and shoot. Steam Deck players should verify B confirms menus after major updates.

Deadzone and skill misfires

Raise stick deadzone above 0.15 if skill moves trigger accidentally on worn controllers. Skill inputs often combine bumper + stick — partial stick drift reads as a flick.

Camera on pad uses right stick; many pad players enable a slightly higher sensitivity than KB+M because fine shot placement is harder without mouse aim.

Steam Deck notes

Proton maps similarly to Xbox. Play 1v1 · 5v5 · 11v11 on Deck for shorter sessions — 11v11 stamina management is harder on handheld controls. See system requirements for FPS targets.

Goalkeeper controls

Goalkeeping is a dedicated role in Strikers Club — not an auto-switch when the ball nears box. Human keepers use stance, dives, and distribution inputs that outfield players never see. Expect to whiff saves until you practice diagonal dives offline.

Stance and positioning

Enter goalkeeper stance before the shooter winds up — standing upright as GK shrinks your effective reach. Shuffle along the goal line with small movements; over-diving early leaves the far post open.

Read the full goalkeeping guide for angle control, 1v1 spreads, and when to rush off your line.

Distribution after saves

Quick throws start counters in 5v5; heavy goal kicks switch possession if you slice them. Use the same pass binding as outfield play — power comes from hold duration and aim direction.

Camera lock & shooting aim

Camera lock while shooting lets you aim power and curve manually — critical against human keepers who read default trajectories. Toggle behavior is under Settings → Camera; experiment in Free Play before ranked.

When to lock

Enable lock for finesse shots, near-post placements, and long-range curlers. Disable or adjust when dribbling in tight spaces so you can see pressure from blind-side defenders.

Sensitivity affects shooting more than short passing — start lower than your FPS games, then raise until 180° turns feel smooth without overshooting the far corner.

Defensive camera habits

As defender, brief camera pans reveal runner depth for offside traps. As striker, check defender line before calling for through balls — offside is strict in Strikers Club.

Controls FAQ

Can I rebind every key?

Yes — Settings → Controls exposes PC and pad remapping. Defaults on this page match EA launch; verify after patches.

Is there input-based matchmaking?

No separate KB vs pad pools announced — connection and team SBMM matter more. Use wired internet if dives feel late.

Why does Jockey feel sluggish?

Intentional — Jockey trades speed for block angle. Release before chasing loose balls.

Where is the official control diagram?

In-game tutorial plus Steam community guides. This wiki mirrors defaults for quick lookup — join Discord for patch-day updates.
